Dr DEBBIE CHALLIS
Historian and Educator

Cultural historian, writer and public engagement producer and consultant working in archives, museums and libraries. I work on the ancient past in the modern world, gender politics and the impact of racist theory in British history and society during the nineteenth and early twentieth century. I am a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a member of the Milesian Tales Research Group and Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool.

In addition, I curate exhibitions, give talks and produce in person and online public events, from panel discussions to stand up and art workshops. I project manage funded projects from grant to delivery in the heritage sector. I combine socially engaged practice with fun and place empathy at the heart of my approaches to the past.
